Summer Stars is back!

Summer Stars is a faith-based performing arts program that incorporates acting, singing, dancing, scenic arts, costume & props, bible study and praise time!

Students who have completed 5th through 8th grade are involved in producing a musical that will be performed for family, friends and the community.

 

Our 2017 program dates are July 17th through July 28th

Mondays & Thursdays – 10am to 7pm

Wednesdays, Tuesday & Fridays – 10am to 4pm

 Performance is Thursday evening, July 28th

Summer Stars meets at  in the basement Greenstone United Methodist Church.

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will continue until all slots are filled. Due to space constraints, enrollment will be limited to 24 children.

 

Summer Stars is led by Amy White. In addition, the program utilizes college aged students as camp counselors, and high school 10th-12th graders as junior counselors.

Amy is a certified PA teacher in Speech Language Pathology and is currently teaching for the School District of Pittsburgh. Her relevant experience includes Production Assistant for the Northgate High School musical productions, Adult Volunteer for the Performing Arts Academy with Urban Impact Foundation, Youth Group Leader at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Assistant Director/Work Crew Coordinator and Director of Summer’s Best Two Weeks, and Vacation Bible School co-director, performer, and leader at Northminster Presbyterian Church.

 

 

How do I enroll my child?

Please complete the registration form above and return it using one of the following methods:

  • In person: Drop the form off at The Shepherds Door in Bellevue.
  • By mail: Return the form via mail to The Shepherd’s Door, 563 Lincoln Ave. Bellevue, PA 15202.
  • Via Email: Complete the form online, save it and return it via email to shepherdsdoor@gmail.com.

What happens after I register?

After registering a representative of The Shepherd’s Door will contact you to verify your information.  Once we confirm all information your child will be officially registered for the program.

How can I volunteer or apply to be a counselor/ junior counselor?

Anybody interested in volunteering or applying to be a counselor/junior counselor may contact The Shepherd’s Door at 412-761-4310.

What musical show will be performed?

The students will perform a musical from the Broadway Junior series by Musical Theater International.  These are Broadway shows that have been adapted specifically for middle school performers and are about 60 minutes in length. The name of the show will be announced when the rights to perform it have been confirmed.
